Synapse Launches Automatic Device Management on Sun Fire x4150 powered by Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor

Supporting the worlds largest mobile networks on pizza box sized architecture

Synapse Mobile Networks s.a. today announced the launch of its next software application environment release on Sun Fire x4150 servers powered by Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processor.

All Synapse telecom applications including the world leading Automatic Device Management System (ADMS) deployed in over 110 mobile operator networks worldwide, will be able to enjoy the performance benefits of the improved software environment in combination with the latest Sun system and Intel® architecture.

 
The combination of Intel® architecture and Solaris operating system is consistent with Synapse's platform strategy of deploying best of breed, off-the-shelf hardware and operating system platforms to enable lower cost of ownership, maximum performance headroom and telecom grade characteristics.

 
The match between the new Synapse software environment with 64 bit processing and multi-threading capabilities and the Sun Solaris on Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor has by far exceeded expectations on system performance gains.  Synapse applications serving 50 million mobile subscribers can now be supported by a system cluster with pizza box sized servers and can be scaled to handle even larger networks. The scalable system design allow Synapse solutions to operate in the worlds largest networks  serving hundreds of millions of mobile subscribers.
